System Requirements​

  • The player runs on the Windows 10 platform
  • Minimum requirements for video and image playback: 4 Gb RAM
  • .NET Framework version 4.5.1 or higher. It is recommended to download the latest version of the .NET Framework from the Microsoft website
  • H.264 codec

Will the player work on Windows XP?
Certainly not. Microsoft officially ended support for XP in 2014. More details here link.

Will the player work on a computer with 2 Gb of RAM?
Yes, but it will often restart due to insufficient memory. When using HTML content, the operation will be very unstable.

Preparation and Installation​

  • Download the application from the link in your personal account: Settings -> Distributions
  • Configure Windows to start automatically without requiring a password
  • Run the installer (installation file visiobox.exe)
  • After installation, go to the Windows menu: Start -> Visiobox and launch the application
  • A connection check will start. After the results, press ENTER
  • Enter the activation PIN code obtained from your personal account
  • Synchronization will begin, and then content playback will start. If there is no content for the player, the Oohdesk CMS splash screen will appear
  • It is recommended to add the application %APPDATA%\visiobox\visiobox.exe to the trusted applications list in your antivirus after installation

Application Features​

  • The application is installed in the %APPDATA%\visiobox directory
  • The application automatically starts with Windows
  • At startup, the application checks for updates on the server. If a new player version is available, it is automatically downloaded and installed without operator involvement
  • The player includes a separate watchdog service. The watchdog will automatically restart the application in case of errors (Visiobox\bin\service.exe)
  • The player has a delayed start mechanism. If it is necessary for the player to start 1 minute after Windows loads, specify the time (in seconds) for delayed start in the configurator (called by CTRL + N). The default is 5 seconds
  • To add your own logo to the application, upload a file named logo.png to the root folder of the application. In this case, the logo will be displayed instead of the text label
  • Real-time playback statistics are sent to the server. If the connection is lost, statistics will accumulate and be sent automatically when the connection is restored
  • To enable autostart on Windows boot, configure Windows so it does not ask for a password on startup
  • The application automatically disables the screensaver while running
  • If the connection is interrupted during content download, the player will resume downloading after the connection returns. Current playback will not be interrupted, and new content and playback rules (schedules) will apply only after full content download

Used for fine-tuning the player:

  1. Start delay after computer startup (in seconds)
  2. Auto-restore time if the application is forcibly minimized
  3. Server address
  4. Output geometry settings
  5. Fade in/out effects (in milliseconds)
  6. Option to auto-minimize the application on mouse click (relevant for interactive panels)

How to Change the Server Address in the Application?​

Sometimes, when activating the application, an error "incorrect PIN code" appears. This can be caused by an incorrect server address in the application. To change the address, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Graphical Configurator (CTRL + N)
  2. Change the server address (if you need to specify the Oohdesk CMS server, it should be http://visiobox.cloud)
  3. Click Apply

Additional Recommendations​

It is recommended to disable the Windows Notification Center. To do this, download the registry file link and run it (just click the downloaded file and confirm execution). Then restart your computer. After this, the Notification Center should disappear. More details can be found in this article link.
