System Requirements
Our player is a lightweight application; by itself, it hardly loads the computer.
The main load on hardware (CPU, memory, and graphics card) comes from playing advertising videos. The higher the quality and the “heavier” the video, the more powerful the computer must be.
The sharper the picture, the more resources are needed.
In the CMS dashboard you can specify, for example, 1280x720 (in pixels) (which is HD, 720p) — and then the ads will be at most that size.
Our player decodes video using the CPU (software codec), not the graphics card. Therefore, we focus on CPU power and RAM capacity.
Hardware Requirements
| Level | Image Size | RAM | CPU | Graphics Card |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum Requirements | up to 1280x720 (HD, 720p). This is good, sharp video for most small screens (monitors, small TVs) | from 4 GB | the load falls on it, preferably not too old (Intel Celeron may not be sufficient) | any, even integrated into the CPU |
| Medium Requirements | up to 1920x1080 (Full HD, 1080p). Modern standard of sharpness. Needed if you have large screens or want very detailed picture | from 8 GB | a more powerful one is recommended (Intel Core i3 or i5), as the load on it will increase 2–3 times | any |
| High Requirements | 3840x2160 (4K). Ultra‑sharp image. Requires a very powerful computer | from 16 GB | must be multi‑core and high‑performance (Intel Core i5/i7), because software 4K is a serious challenge for the CPU | any |
RAM Clarification
It is better to take 4 GB more RAM for the entire OS because:
- Windows itself consumes about 2 GB.
- Your application will take another ~1 GB.
- Browsers, antiviruses, and other software consume the rest.
Important Warning About “Heavy” Files
Even a small video can “weigh” 50 MB or more if the client creates it with a very high bitrate (quality). Our player tries to compress the video, but if the file is technically complex, it will load the CPU. This happens very rarely, but it does happen. It may be worth allocating a little more resources than necessary. And video progress does not stand still.
