2019 and Earlier
Update from April 15, 2019
Breakthrough:
- Yandex Indoor API
- Closer integration with Oohdesk CMS RTB. Display of analytics (monetization, number of broadcasts) in the operator’s dashboard.
- Alternative content. When this option is enabled, the campaign’s default content plays by default. If there is an alternative video (e.g., triggered by weather or traffic), then instead of the main campaign video, the one matching the triggered event will be played. Alternative content can also include videos from programmatic platforms.
- Added the ability for the player to asynchronously send audience data along with the VAST request to the programmatic platform.
- Export of player broadcast logs via API.
Improvements
- Added the ability to add a photo gallery and specify a link to Google Street Maps in the player card. This data can be fetched via API to the website or sent to a DMP platform.
- Added an option for forced transcoding of all videos (Settings → System Settings).
- Significantly improved algorithms for competitor separation in the advertising block in floating frequency mode.
- Data sources. Allowed saving new types of links:
- #!datasources/add/
- %appdata%/visiobox/1.json
- C:\Users\adm\AppData\Roaming\Visiobox\1.json
- C:/Users/adm/AppData/Roaming/Visiobox/1.json
- http://server/1.json
Update from January 27, 2019
Many changes in campaign and playlist generation algorithms.
- Fillers — you can now specify a lifespan for fillers. For example, you can upload a filler and specify that it will play from May 8 to May 9. If the filler's lifespan is not explicitly set, it will remain active as before.
- Added a new campaign generation algorithm — "Clock Mode". Similar to "floating frequency", but only 1/2/4 times per hour options, plus all ads are guaranteed to be grouped into clusters (i.e., there will definitely be no fillers between ad videos). Fillers play between clusters.
- Added the ability to set a priority for an ad campaign when several ad videos play in a row.
- Added the ability to more evenly dilute ad clusters with fillers (Settings → System Settings, option "Group campaign content into clusters").
Improvements
- The device list and monitoring have changed. You can now filter devices by status and by time since last contact. You can also export the list to Excel for technical staff. Additionally, many new filters have been added (migrated from monitoring). The number of options in the device menu has been optimized.
Microfixes
- You can change the start date of a campaign that starts in the future.
- When editing a campaign, you can change the mode (normal/cycle-in-cycle). Previously this was not possible.
Update from December 30, 2019
Breakthrough
- Support for random fillers. More details.
- Audience parameters can be assigned to players.
- More efficient selling of free time on external programmatic platforms.
- Support for the RTB programmatic platform SPAX.
Improvement
- Performance and high-load optimization (when working with more than 10,000 players simultaneously).
- Asynchronous generation of ad campaign reports (you can "order" a report and leave the campaign page, then return and download the completed report).
Update from September 10, 2018
Breakthrough
- Important! Advertising mode: now after creating an ad campaign, devices are not automatically synchronized. For this, a synchronization icon has appeared in the right navigation menu. The icon appears if there are updates for devices. To synchronize, click the icon. This was done to optimize server performance. (Previously, when creating each new campaign, the server recalculated playlists. Now the calculation occurs only once). Also, the "update devices" button in the "Fillers" section has disappeared.
- A convenient interface for integration with Yandex and moderation of Yandex videos has appeared. The ability to give Yandex ad-free time. A specific slot is not booked; instead, time with fillers is given. (Only relevant for Windows, Android, and Oohdesk CMS hardware player)*
- "Floating frequency" mode has appeared. Simply specify how many times per hour to broadcast the video.
- Ad campaigns can now have time targeting (previously only daily targeting). That is, you can specify the duration (dates) of the ad campaign and indicate during which hours the campaign will be active. Example: Campaign from September 1 to 30, active from 17:00 to 19:00.
- "Multi-version content" has been added for owners of multi-format screens. More details.
- Display of fillers in random order. Each subsequent filler will be randomly selected from the entire set of fillers suitable for the player (Only relevant for Windows, Android, and Oohdesk CMS hardware player). How it works: the entire set of fillers suitable for the device is loaded and stored on it. Suppose a five-second filler should play in order. The player will choose a random filler from all five-second fillers previously loaded on it.
Improvement
- Automatic video transcoding. If MP4 (h.264) is uploaded, no encoding occurs. If AVI or MOV files are uploaded, they will be automatically transcoded to MP4.
- Export of the address program (device list) to Excel enter image description here
- Device card. A "show completed campaigns" button has appeared (by default, all completed campaigns associated with this device are hidden).
- Uploading images larger than 5 MB is now prohibited (in the library and in fillers).
- In the Billing section, you can now see the number of active licenses each day. Active license = used PIN code.
- You can unlink all campaigns from a player with one click.
